The Great Lakes hold 84% of North America’s fresh water and are an essential component of life in the US and Canada. The Great Lakes support 48 million people with drinking water and provide over $60 billion in wages annually. However, as fresh water sources in other parts of the country begin to dry up, increased attention will be on the Great Lakes. How do residents of the North Shore protect their fresh water source and ensure it is clean, resilient, economically robust, and plentiful for generations to come? Come find out from our expert speakers, which include The Nature Conservancy, the Alliance for the Great Lakes, and the Brookings Institution. Economics, law and policy, and conservation will all be discussed. Have questions you'd like answered by the speakers? Submit them to info@northshorecivicclub.org with the title "Great Lakes Question". We will do our best to ensure each question is addressed
