Enjoy the Desfiles de Independencia Parade that start at 10am and runs until 12pm. The Desfiles de Independencia after-parade celebration in Parking Lot F located at the northwest corner of Water Street and Sheridan Road; this celebration will end at 10pm. All are welcome!

Club-Apaseo El-Alto hosts a drive-thru food distribution event Sundays from 10 - 11am, with sponsors Northern Illinois Food Bank and State Rep. Rita Mayfield. All in need are welcome.

Enjoy the Fiestas Patrias Parade that begins 12:30pm and runs until 2:30pm. The Fiestas Patrias after-parade celebration will be at Bertrand Bowl located at 2616 Washington street in Waukegan, ending at 10pm.

Join artist Sunny Corba as she shares tips and tricks to create your own custom 8"x 10" resin geode frame. You will gain the experience of mixing, maneuvering, pouring and learning its unique characteristics of epoxy resin and will use (included) mica pigments, glitter, glass chips, and other elements to create your own unique work of art! Participants will be able to select a color, shape and design. Other custom resin crystals and elements for sale. Participants will learn the method, process, tips and tricks. Participants are requested to bring a photo to include in their frame. Must be 15+ years of age, wear clothing to create art in, and bring Photo(s) to fit in a 8" X 10" frame. Once resin cures (minimum of 12 -24 hours) students may pickup their masterpiece. Warning: Resin chemical and tools are used in this workshop. Class maximum 12, minimum seven. Final registration by Friday Sept 15th at 12 noon.

Join the Lake County Forest Preserves for a guided walk on one of this year’s Hike Lake County trails. Walk a new trail each session. Complete this year's Hike Lake County challenge with a forest preserve educator. FREE but need to register to attend. Adult supervision required. Out of respect for all program participants, leave pets at home for these walks although service animals permitted. Trail distance: 1.3 miles. Program begins on the west side of Green Bay Road, follow the hike Lake County signs.
