  2. Waukegan Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony

    Parade start: Genesee and Washington Streets

    Join the American Legion Homer Dahringer Post 281, Waukegan High School JROTC, the City, your neighbors and friends in saluting and honoring our military veterans. The parade steps off at 10:45am from the corner of Washington and Genesee Streets and travels west on Washington to Veterans Plaza in Washington Park. The ceremony will start at 11am. All are welcome.

    Tommy James's success is extraordinary. A staple of AM radio throughout the '60s, he and The Shondells scored more than a dozen Top 40 hits in just four years. In 1969, the band sold more records than The Beatles! In all, Tommy James would go on to sell over 100 million records with nine platinum albums and 23 gold records to his credit. Other great artists have recorded his songs, including Joan Jett, Prince and Bruce Springsteen, exposing the rock legend's music to new generations of fans. It's been said that rock artists from the '60s and '70s put on the best shows. Tommy James is no exception.
