Kids, ages 15 and under, fish free during this Salmon Unlimited fishing derby! (Young adults 16 to 18 will need a valid fishing license.) Prizes given for largest fish of the species in each category. Any species. If it has fins, it wins.

Join Marlene, your friends and neighbors for Yoga at the Beach on Saturday mornings. All levels are welcome. Bring your own mats (and blocks, if you wish) and start the weekend out right.

Join Waukegan Main Street (WMS) for their bimonthly community cleanups! They'll pick up litter to freshen up our Downtown! Cleanup starts at 9am and runs until 11am or when all of the litter is removed. Meet at 221 N Genesee Street (Three Brothers Theatre) and head South down to Belvidere Road. WMS will supply trash bags, gloves, and water for all.

Kroll's Fall Harvest Farm opens for its 20th season! Lots of new and some of the traditional things to do!

Waukegan Park District and Waukegan Historical Society are hosting the 27th Annual Oakwood Cemetery Walk, an annual “living history” event showcasing the rich history of Waukegan using costumed actors to portray local historic figures with connections to the cemetery and Waukegan. This year's theme is “What Made the City Work,” including stories of the people who helped shaped the growth of our town with both common and uncommon jobs. Attendees meet at Lilac Cottage in Bowen Park. Buses depart from Lilac Cottage to Oakwood Cemetery at 12pm, 12:30pm, 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm, and 2:30pm. The last tour begins at approximately 2:45pm. ArtWauk is the monthly celebration of all arts in downtown Waukegan. Each month is a unique experience as the art exhibits, musicians and featured performances vary from one month to the next. Come downtown, grab dinner and enjoy the tactical application of the arts.
