    Treasurer Kim is hosting "Fiscally Fit in 2021" with local community banks in Lake County. These convenient and free zoom lessons help you meet your financial health goals. This session will help participants understand what debt is and how to manage it. It will also define debt and credit and explain how they differ, define phrases commonly used to discuss debt, provide strategies for reducing debit and explain the consequences of not paying debt. If time allows we can also review student debt, medical debt and high cost debt.

  2. UMMA Food Pantry

    June 9, 2021, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ UMMA Center

    The UMMA BASIC NEEDS program provides food, toiletries, clothing and household supplies like toilet paper and paper towels to families in need. Each week, they hand out 50-100 BASIC NEEDS bags to anyone, including seniors, unemployed and undocumented individuals. Registration is required unless otherwise stated and may be done in person.

  3. Gardening Series: Veggies Planted, Now What?

    June 9, 2021, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM @ SWALCO

    The University of Illinois Extension, Lake County (UIE) and SWALCO (Solid Waste Agency of Lake County) present the 2021 Garden Learning Series. Programs will be held on the second Wednesday of the month, 6pm – 7:30pm. Keeping up with your newly planted vegetable garden! These workshops are offered through a collaboration between SWALCO and UIE as part of a grant from USDA, focusing on local efforts to promote composting and food waste diversion. The grant also aims to increase the generation and use of compost in commercial, residential, agriculture, and community gardens sectors. Community Gardens wanting to learn more or get involved, can reach out. Some programs will be offered virtually or others in-person.
