    SWALCO is hosting household chemical waste events by appointment only. Items collected include: CFL bulbs, unwanted prescription, over-the-counter medicines and supplements (people and pet), household cleaners, gasoline, garden chemicals, pesticides, oil-based paints (NO LATEX) and varnishes, as well as other household chemicals.   2. Waukegan Fishing Derby

    June 5, 2021, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM @ Bevier Park

    The Waukegan Park District invites families to participate in the 2021 Fishing Derby - the first in-person special event held by the Waukegan Park District since the pandemic began! Participants will have the chance to win prizes in a friendly competition for the largest fish caught in their age group. Competitions will be held for the following age groups: 4 years or younger, 5 to 8 years, 9 to 12 years, 13 to 16 years, and 17 years or older. Preregistration is required. To allow for social distancing among participants and staff, the 2021 Fishing Derby will be capped at 200 participants.

  3. Clothes to You

    St. Paul's Lutheran Church will have free clothing available on the first Saturday of the month. When the weather is nice, Clothes to You will be in the rear parking lot, and may head indoors in the colder months. If you have questions, contact the office at (847) 662-2535. All are welcome.

    Join Waukegan Main Street Executive Director Josh Beadle for a carefree Wauk (walk) or jog through Downtown Waukegan. It's time to get outside and shed some of those COVID pounds. Starting at Three Brothers Theatre, the club will walk and run about two miles each Saturday morning. Run or walk at your pace, but enjoy some friends along the way. Oh, and don't forget to invite your friends! Let's get healthy!
