  2. Women's Virtual Roundtable Part 2: Women After Incarceration: Adult Children Relationships

    Waukegan to College (W2C) will have meal kits available for children 18 years old and younger every Friday. All families with children are welcome. Distribution of the meal kits is on a first come, first served basis.

  4. College of Lake County APIDA Keynote: Fatimah Asghar Fireside Chat

    Join College of Lake county for a reading and fireside chat with writer and filmmaker Fatimah Asghar, highlighting and celebrating APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) Heritage Month. In 2011, Asghar created a spoken word poetry group in Bosnia and Herzegovina while on a Fulbright studying theater in post-genocidal countries. She is the writer and co-creator of Brown Girls, an Emmy-Nominated web series. A Ruth Lily and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellow, she was also featured on the 2017 Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list. She is the author of If They Come For Us, and the co-editor of Halal If You Hear Me, an anthology that celebrates Muslim writers who are also women, queer, gender nonconforming and/or trans.   5. Zakat Foundation of America to Provide Warm Meal for Those Struggling

    May 7, 2021, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Lake County Sheriff's Office Parking Lot

    The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Zakat Foundation of America, United Giving Hope, and DoorDash to provide warm meals for families who are in need, during the Feel the Hunger to Do Good initiative. Volunteers will be on hand to distribute warm meals to individuals and families who struggle to keep food on the table, including the homeless population.
