  1. UMMA Food Pantry

    The UMMA BASIC NEEDS program provides food, toiletries, clothing and household supplies like toilet paper and paper towels to families in need. Each week, they hand out 50-100 BASIC NEEDS bags to anyone, including seniors, unemployed and undocumented individuals. Registration is required unless otherwise stated and may be done in person.

  2. Gentle Flow Yoga - Lunchtime

    May 12, 2021, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM @ Natural Balance Massage Therapy

    This class will focus on foundational yoga poses, tuning into the alignment of postures with the connection of movement and breath. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking for gentle and balanced practice. Take your practice a bit deeper if you have a more experienced practice or just enjoy the flow if you are newer to your practice. Space is limited, no walk-ins. Registration required 90 minutes prior to the start of class.

  4. Gardening Series: Composting Basics (virtual)

    May 12, 2021, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM @ SWALCO

    The University of Illinois Extension, Lake County (UIE) and SWALCO (Solid Waste Agency of Lake County) present the 2021 Garden Learning Series. Programs will be held on the second Wednesday of the month, 6pm – 7:30pm. Composting for you and your household! These workshops are offered through a collaboration between SWALCO and UIE as part of a grant from USDA, focusing on local efforts to promote composting and food waste diversion. The grant also aims to increase the generation and use of compost in commercial, residential, agriculture, and community gardens sectors. Community Gardens wanting to learn more or get involved, can reach out. Some programs will be offered virtually or others in-person. Visit or for further information on workshops.
