Mayor Ann B. Taylor

From the Desk of
Mayor Ann B.Taylor

For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the Waukegan Park District hosted our traditional American Independence Parade, the Waukegan Band has resumed its free summer concerts series, and Scoop Waukegan made a triumphant return. Thank you to everyone who has made these fantastic events a success!

This month has not been easy, however, due to the tragedy in Highland Park, which resulted in the passing of one of our own residents and six others. As a community, we must stand in solidarity with our neighbors and keep everyone affected in our thoughts. It’s times like these that the strength of our greater community is tested, and I know Waukegan is up to the task.

We are looking to reschedule our annual Fourth of July fireworks display, and we hope to provide more details soon. Please feel free to follow us on Facebook for further news and updates. Have a safe and enjoyable rest of the summer!
