The City project to replace the lead service line replacement will be led by Robinson Engineering, who gave a presentation at the June 20th City Council meeting (presentation starts at 2:20:49.)
After years of attempts, two major laws dealing with lead in drinking water are on the books. The first was passed in the state of Illinois, the state with the most lead service lines in the country. The second is the first revisions to the federal lead and copper rule, which controls how much lead can be in the water, in over 20 years.
