The City is partnering with Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) and Waukegan Park District to host a Community Recycling and Document Shredding Event this coming Saturday, October 23rd, from 10am - 1pm at Bevier Park, 2255 Yorkhouse Road.
Collected items will be reused, recycled, or donated. The following items will be accepted, with some exceptions:
- Accessories
- Clothes and Textiles
- Electronics
- Eyeglasses, Hearing Aids, and Keys
- Footwear
- Linens
- Musical Instruments
- Sporting Equipment
The 2021 Community Recycling Event will be contact-free. Individuals must have all items and/or bags marked in the trunk of their vehicle where staff will collect the items. More details, including a list of accepted items, are available here.
