The City of Waukegan CDBG Department is seeking eligible applicants that provides direct essential services in addressing the needs of small Waukegan businesses as it relates to the COVID-19 coronavirus. You as the organization must identify the proposed use of all funds and how the funds will be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus.
In an effort to rapidly deploy resources to established economic development organizations on the frontlines of the COVID-19 outbreak, the CDBG Department will work with organizations to provide financial support to small businesses located in the City of Waukegan that were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic due to closure or limited operations. The City is looking for an organization to administer a small business loan program to small businesses with special preference to owners that actually live in the City of Waukegan, who qualify as low and moderate income.
Community Development Block Grant – CARES Act funds will be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19). This allocation was authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136, which was signed by President Trump on March 27, 2020, to respond to the growing effects of this historic public health crisis.
