PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
City of Waukegan CARES ACT Amendment to the
2019 Annual Action Plan
The City of Waukegan is an entitlement community eligible to receive assistance under the United States Department of the Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In accordance with HUD rules and regulations, the City will host a virtual public hearing to obtain input on its proposed CARES Act Amendment to the 2019 Annual Action Plan on Monday, June 15, 2020 starting at 5pm. Waukegan City Hall, Council Chambers, 100 North Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085 regarding the CARES Act Amendment to the 2019 Annual Action. The proposed amendment will be available for review and receive written comments for a period of 5 days beginning June 10, 2020 ending June 15, 2020.
The City of Waukegan is proposing a “Substantial Amendment” to the Program Year 2019 Annual Action Plan. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to discuss the Community Development Block Grant CARES ACT (CDBG CV) program. This meeting will gather input from citizens, public agencies, and other interested parties on coronavirus related community development needs that prevent, prepare for, or respond to the spread of the COVID19. The proposed amendment will disburse the City of Waukegan’s $470,215 allocation of CARES Act funding for the following purposes:
- Public Service
- Economic Development
- Program Administration
The proposed CARES Act Amendment to the 2019 Annual Action Plan is a component of the 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan that identifies resources and strategies to assist in meeting the housing and community development needs.
