PUBLIC NOTICE OF ALTERED CITY COUNCIL MEETING PROTOCOLS
IN RESPONSE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC
AND DIRECTIVES FROM THE PRESIDENT AND GOVERNOR
Since the federal and state authorities have directed that larger gatherings of people be cancelled or limited in order to avoid unnecessary exposure of the populace to coronavirus, the Mayor and City Council have determined that imposing some limitations on City Council meetings is necessary and prudent to protect the public health. The understanding and cooperation of the citizens is appreciated, as these measures will assist in limiting the spread of COVID-19 and ultimately saving lives and preventing unnecessary suffering. Accordingly, notice is hereby given as follows:
The regular City Council meeting scheduled for March 16, 2020 at 7:00 pm is hereby rescheduled to March 16, 2020 at 5:10 pm in the City Council Chambers. Total public attendance at the meeting will be limited to no more than 20 members of the public. City Staff is directed to not attend unless specifically ordered to attend by the Mayor. The public is asked to refrain from addressing the Council during Audience Time so that the meeting can focus on essential City business and end quickly. Total Audience Time will be limited to 15 minutes maximum. This will result in a room load of no more than about 40 persons and significantly shorten the potential exposure period for persons in the room.
All non-essential committee meetings previously scheduled to start between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm on March 16, 2020 are hereby cancelled.
By emergency order of the Mayor.
