Safety on the water should be everyone's top priority. Every body of water can be dangerous, some more than others. Lake Michigan is particularly unforgiving. Dozens of people die on the Great Lakes every year. Invest two hours in your underway skills learning how to avoid stress and trouble so you can make it home safely to share your boating adventures! The "Speaking of Safety" seminar was developed by two professionals working in the maritime realm. Chris, a first responder working search and rescue on the water, recognized that many boaters lacked the training they needed to operate safely during everyday and emergency situations. John, a marine electronics installer, recognized that many boaters lacked confidence in their ability to use equipment on the boat that could simplify their lives on the water, or save them in the event of an emergency.
