Between 1894 and 1898, a small public library had been purchased, managed, maintained and developed by the club. In 1896 the club federated with the state. In 1912, it became federated nationally and changed its name to Waukegan Woman’s Club. The club has provided help and support whenever and wherever it was needed, including giving scholarships to Waukegan students. Waukegan Women's Club has been in existence for over 100 years and was instrumental in establishing our now award-winning Waukegan Park District!
The group meets the first Monday of every month from September through May at Bonnie Brooke Club House, starting at 11am with a guest speaker and offering lunch at 12pm. Follow them on Facebook or contact them directly for more information.
