Finance Department

Responsibilities

The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining a fiscally sound organization that conforms to legal requirements and to generally accepted financial management principles. The Finance Department services include:

  • Accounting and financial reporting
  • Accounts payable
  • Accounts receivables
  • Advisory support
  • Auditing
  • Budget
  • Debt management and capital financing
  • Payroll
  • Purchasing
  • Strategic and fiscal planning

Financial reports will be performed and presented to the departments and the City Council on a quarterly basis. In addition, an annual audit is performed by external auditors retained by the City Council.

Treasurer's Office

Responsibilities

 The Treasurer's Office is the custodian of the City's money, as well as the Police and Fire Pension funds.

  • Record daily deposits
  • Invest cash in accordance with policy
  • Annual Treasurer's report
  • Monthly cash reconciliation
  • Monthly Treasurer's reports of cash and investments
